What it does
Railbed for Slack connects one Slack workspace to your Railbed business. Once it's connected, your team can:
- get alerts in the channels you choose: payments that are paid or need your decision, and account notices such as a changed payout wallet or a failing webhook endpoint;
- get a daily report of yesterday's sales and the last 7 days, at the hour you pick;
- check the account with
/railbed stats,/railbed recent,/railbed reviewand/railbed status; - create, edit, share and cancel payment links;
- accept a payment that needs your decision, from the alert itself.
Buyers always pay on Railbed's own checkout page. Slack only shows the link, never card details.
Connect your workspace
You need to be an account owner (or have a role that can change integrations).
- Open Integrations → Slack in the dashboard and choose Add to Slack.
- Slack asks you to pick the workspace and approve. You come back to the dashboard, which shows the workspace as connected.
- Choose Open Railbed in Slack to pick the channels for alerts (below). Railbed's app also sends you a direct message in Slack with what to do next.
A Slack workspace can be connected to one Railbed business, and a business to one workspace. Some workspaces only let admins add apps; if Slack says the app needs approval, ask your Slack admin.
Connect yourself
Each person who uses Railbed in Slack connects their own Railbed login once. The first time you use a command or a button, Railbed shows you, privately, Connect your Railbed login. It opens a page that names the workspace, your Slack name and the business, and asks you to confirm. The link works once and lasts ten minutes.
You can only connect if you're a member of that business in Railbed. What you can do in Slack is what your role allows in the dashboard, checked again on every click: a person who can only read records can see stats but can't create links or accept payments. If you're removed from the business, your Slack connection stops working at once.
Disconnect yourself with /railbed disconnect or from Railbed's Home tab in Slack. An owner can remove anyone's connection from Integrations → Slack.
Choose where alerts go
In the channel you want, type /railbed alerts, or choose Add a channel on Railbed's Home tab in Slack. For each channel you choose:
- Events: paid, needs your decision, checkout started, declined, expired unpaid, and the account notices. A new channel starts with paid, needs your decision and the notices.
- Test payments: on by default, so you can try it in Test mode. Test alerts start with "Test mode".
- Buyer details: the buyer's name and email. Anyone in the channel sees them, including guests from outside your company, so a private channel is safer.
- What was bought: turn it off to show the order number instead of the item description.
- Daily report: the hour and time zone, or off. It covers your Live sales.
For a private channel, add the app first: type /invite @Railbed in the channel. You can change or remove channels in the dashboard too.
Anyone connected can also get alerts in their own direct messages from Railbed's Home tab, for the events they choose. Each person changes their own; an owner can remove anyone's from Integrations → Slack.

Payment links in Slack
Use the Create payment link shortcut (the plus menu or the shortcut search), the button on Railbed's Home tab, or /railbed link. Fill in the amount, currency, what it's for and, if you like, the customer's name and email, a note and when it expires. Then choose where it goes: post it in a channel, send it to someone, or just show it to you.
Each link message has Edit, Cancel link and View in Railbed. You can edit a link only while nobody has started paying it. If a buyer has the page open when you change the amount, they're asked to check the new amount before paying.
Payments that need your decision
When a payment needs your decision and the money reached your wallet, its alert has Accept as paid. It asks you to confirm, then accepts the payment as it would in the dashboard, and the alert shows who accepted it. If the payment changed in the meantime, Slack says so and nothing is accepted. See Payments that need your decision.
Disconnect Slack
Choose Disconnect Slack on Integrations → Slack, or remove the app in Slack's own settings. Either way, Railbed deletes the workspace's connection, channels, people and unsent alerts straight away. Your payments and records in Railbed are not affected.
